My Go To Playlist For Inspiration

Hello and happy new month y’all.

Who else becomes happier after listening to the right song? Now don’t judge me but when i need a boost in my spirit i listen to music that is uplifting to my soul. I’m sure y’all already know i really believe in the power of words, declarations etc. A lot of people are so depressed but don’t even realise its because they spend half their time listening to some break up song about being lonely.

Anyway, let me get into my faves with you.

The Anthem (Full Song) | Planetshakers

This song puts me in a victorious, celebratory mood as i declare that God is alive and has the power to bring me through whatever situation i’m facing. If God has done something great for you recently this is the perfect song to get you to that place were you surrender all and acknowledge him as the victor. If everything seems to be falling apart it is also perfect to get you declaring who God truly is and what He is capable of.

We Wait For You (Shekinah Glory)

So this is actually a really old song that i discovered a few months ago when i was going through some really nasty issues (story for another day LOL). The song is about asking God to release the fullness of His presence to us. If you ever feel ‘defeated’ and don’t know what to do next, this song will strengthen your spirit and somehow has a way of making you feel better and hopeful.

King of My Heart (w/ spontaneous) – Steffany Gretzinger, Jeremy Riddle, & Christine Rhee

Steffany Gretzinger has such a powerful anointing, listening to her sing will just bring you to a place of pouring out to God. Whenever i need assurance that God is for me, this is my go to song. The lyrics declare that God is good (in good & bad times) and He will never let me down. You know i’m big on the power of words right? Yea hahah! This song will leave you feeling assured that God’s got you.

Kristene DiMarco – It Is Well (Live)

This is the perfect song to put my mind in that place were i know everything is going to work out well.  There is something about repeating ‘It is well with my soul’ over and over again, it really soothes my soul and reminds me about hope.

The Olowogbogboro Anthem – Nathaniel Bassey ft Wale Adenoma

Taken from the scripture Psalm 98.1 – Oh sing unto The Lord a new song; for He has done marvellous things; His right hand, and His holy arm has gotten Him the victory. Olowogbogboro ‘outstretched hand of God’ is literally an anointed and ‘miracle working’ song for me. There has never been a time i listen to this song during a time were something is wrong and it doesn’t get right. I have so many testimonies that have manifested from me blasting this song in my room. Whenever i’ve feel depressed, lost hope and play this song, BOOM my mood completely brightens and next thing, my situation changes for the better, no jokes this happens all the time.

God Is In This Place HD – Bonnie Deuschle & Celebration

I love that it’s a mix of English and my native language Shona, i also really like Pastor Bonnie Deuschle her music does things to me (if you know what i mean hahhahaah). Basically it is a declaration that God is here with us and everything is going to be fine.

Zimpraise Feat Oliver Mtukudzi (Hear Me Lord)

Oliver Mtukudzi is one of the greatest African artists of all time, how can i not like this song? No matter how i feel, this song will always get me on my feet (well at least moving my body), dancing and singing along. It’s basically a prayer saying Lord i’m feeling low, help me accompanied by really strong instrumentals.

This song is a reminder that only God can turn around situations that man have failed at and about how He has been doing that since the beginning of time. Imagine starting your day with that and knowing without a shadow of doubt that you have that kind of God on your side as you go about your daily activities. It has a really cool upbeat you will definitely dance to.

Through this post i wanted to spread the same hope, joy, strength and peace I receive from these songs with you. You may have realised, my favourite praise/ upbeat songs are all from African artists and the worship /slower ones are more Western, hahahaha that just shows you that we Africans like to groove yea.

  1. I love your picks, there are some pieces that are unknown to me so thanks for sharing them. I am making some lists myself these days for my wedding, it can be quite stressful to pick the right songs!

  2. Thanks girl for sharing, I’m not familiar with these artists except Planetshakers. I love praise and worship songs, my all time favourites are the ones from Hillsong where I go on Sundays every now and then. When I was growing up, I used to listen to Amy Grant and Sandi Patti, I guess I have to update my Christian songs playlist 🙂 Wishing you a great weekend!

  3. Thanks for sharing these! I hadn’t heard of all of them, although I have heard of and love a couple 🙂 I like putting the worship music on spotify, it’s uplifting and reminds me to be thankful of my blessings 🙂

Hope you are having a good weekend 🙂 We are having a quiet one to recover from our busy week!
